Healthy Puppy

A complete meal designed for growing puppies from about 8 weeks to 9 months old (12 months for giant breeds). Puppies need a lot more food per pound than adult dogs — roughly 2.5 to 3 times as much in the early weeks — and that need slowly tapers as they grow. Because puppy nutrition has very little wiggle room, please follow the ingredients exactly as written and check in with your vet regularly so you can adjust portion sizes as your puppy grows.

Notes & guidance

  • · Substitutions in this recipe may cause nutrient deficiencies — follow ingredient choices strictly.
  • · 8–16 weeks: ~2.5–3× resting energy requirement (RER = 30 × kg + 70). Example: a 15 lb (7 kg) puppy needs ~700 kcal/day.
  • · 16–24 weeks: ~2–2.5× RER. Example: a 31 lb (14 kg) puppy needs ~980 kcal/day.
  • · By 5–7 months most puppies no longer need further calorie escalation. Transition to an adult recipe by 9 months — 12 months for giant breeds, 6–7 months for small toy breeds.

Feeding instructions

  1. 1Cook the protein thoroughly until no pink remains — pan-brown ground meat or bake fish.
  2. 2Cook the quinoa or rice and chop/cook vegetables until soft for easy digestion.
  3. 3Mix the daily portion together with the supplements in one batch, then divide across 2–3 meals per day.
  4. 4Add iViBlend and bone meal powder after cooling — do not heat the supplements.
  5. 5Introduce supplements gradually over a 7-day period if your puppy is picky.
  6. 6Refrigerate prepared food and use within 3 days, or portion and freeze for up to 2 months.
  7. 7Weigh your puppy regularly with your vet and adjust the daily portion up or down to keep growth on track — especially important for large and giant breeds.
